Droopy passenger mirror

I swear I have read something about this before, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it.

My passenger side mirror keeps tilting downward and I keep having to push it back up again. It's driving me crazy. I have disabled the backup/curb view feature where it tilts down each time you put the car in reverse but somehow it keeps finding it's way down an inch or two.

Is there some way to keep it from doing that?

Thanks!

Mine was doing this too and I've been trying to figure out how to keep it from doing that. I just disabled the "remember settings from key" in the convenience menu so we'll see if that does anything. I did notice that before when I put my key in and the ignition would unlock, the mirrors would twitch a bit, now it doesn't seem to be doing it.

I had the same symptoms and the dealer went 'round and 'round until they finally replaced the motor. It used to drift every day no matter what settings I had.

Now it's perfect.

Good luck!

It seems to be getting worse. I'm going to have to get it fixed soon. Earlier today I was going to make a quick lane change. The split second I decided to make the move, I looked to my passenger mirror to make sure it was clear. When I looked over all I could see was pavement in the mirror. I quickly moved back to the center of my lane for fear someone was in my blind spot. Luckily nobody was.

So a new mirror motor huh?

It could be the door module; I believe that's what controls the mirror (as well as the window). I know the rear door modules are only about $125. The front modules might be a little more.

Chazz maybe post in the main W203 forum to see if they have any ideas. I'm totally out of ideas too and I think it really is a safety hazard as you mentioned before.
