I am not looking to tune the car myself, but rather get it tuned by a professional such as LET then be able to switch back and forth.

I would go with whichever cheaper. The keep-able hardware has advantage over my choice though

The LET tuner is in no one comparable to a Diablo tuner. Basically in the Domestic market, when you plug into a car the file you pull out is universal throughout the model range. With the European cars, and Mercedes in particular, there are 100's of ECU variants per model.

You may plug into a different car every day of the year and never get the same file. This would expalin the difference in tuning prices of Euro vehicles over Domestic. The cost of developing files for al the variants is expensive.

As for the pricing to send out the unit, my understanding is it will cost the same or similar for the tuning, but a deposit will be required and postage paid. All and all, not that expensive.
