thinking about adding 100lbs to my car
Nothing set in stone yet, But after talking with my local tune shop its just about the only move i got left to make. Dont know yet if it will be a Renntech blower, or an AMG retro fit. Retro fit will be cheaper than the 15K Renntech is charging. hoping to have it done in 4-5 months. I've seen some other retro fits on the forum and they look sweet. Either way I'm taking the plunge

If I have C55 + 15K, I will sell it, spend 5-7K more buy an 04-05 E55 (this can happen in 1 day) and still have 10K left for mods
After $10K mods on E55 I get an even superer beast

Although most here would advocate for getting a used E55 from a dollar/performance point of view, I can understand your desire to keep the C55. The one thing the C55 has over the E55 is much improved handling and nimbleness. Even in stock form, an average driver in a C55 can overtake an average driver in a E55 on a twisty circuit (I've experienced this personally).
With a supercharger, the C55 potentially becomes comparable to the C63 when it comes to acceleration. Whether this seems "enough" or "worth it" is up to you.
If I went with a supercharger, I would go with the Kleeman setup.
Car & Driver actually tested a Kleeman supercharged C55 a few years ago. The tested car had the supercharger with intercooler, ECU tune, headers, bigger downpipes, free flowing catalysts, and "straight through mufflers and resonators".
0-60mph: 3.8 seconds
0-100mph: 8.9 seconds
1/4 mile: 12.2 seconds @ 117mph
5-60mph: 3.9 seconds
Here is the same data from Car & Driver for a stock C63
0-60mph: 3.9 seconds
0-100mph: 9.2 seconds
1/4 mile: 12.3 seconds @ 116mph
5-60mph: 4.2 seconds
And here is the data from Car & Driver for a stock E55
0-60mph: 4.2 seconds
0-100mph: 9.9 seconds
1/4 mile: 12.5 seconds @ 115mph

all options are on the table and I got some thinking to do. BTW, That c55k8 is amazing!
I just really love the way my car feels and thats number 1 for me. I got out of an 2003 S500 to get into a C55 solely because it was smaller. I thought about just trading up for something else. Nothing out right now is really doing it for me. the C63 to me, looks a bit bulky, E55 is a bit heavy, and every thing else is just
I just think I will have this car for a while Its fun, fast, and functional. when you jump on it it just makes you smile. This car just works for me so I will work with it. It will be a fun project and cap off a nice build up.

Hooley--
Check out an old board member dragonAMG. He took his C55 to Kleemann and they did everything but the brakes IIRC.

I contacted Kleeman for a blower for the ML55 and it was $15K (uninstalled) and I can NOt find any used on the market. For that kind of $$, I should just get a 63

it will be even harder to put the power down
I would save the money.. just add NOS for those days you get competition.
Honestly.. just because SRT8, Evos, STi's, 335's can keep up the C55, does not mean you need to spend $15k on mods.
I can count in one hand, how many times I have raced anybody with my E55 that was a worthy opponent.
Thank God I have not spend no more than $2k in mods...and I'm about to spend a few hundred more on tuning. That's about it for my E.
