C55 running engine temp
Hello, I'm new to the AMG world, just purchased an 05 C55, and am Loving every minute of it.
Haven't had the pleasure yet of having anyone out there let me show them my quad pipes at full scream, but am definitely looking forward to it.
Looking for some info on avg engine temp at normal operation.
this car is running at just above 80 on the dial. Is this healthy for a C55?
Thanks for input.

Yup, coolant temp gauge stays there all the time and I have never seen it move above the middle of the gauge, even on lapping track days when I've done continuous 45-60 min runs. The engine is robust and overheating has never been a problem in any situation.

Temperature signals are filtered at the gauge to stay at one indicated temperature as long as true temperature is within a given range. My theory is that there are fewer warranty issues that way. It's been done for years now.
If you have the digital climate control panel you can hack into it to read the true temperature.

Pc Valk - Greater Vancouver area.
See a lot of C-series,, but no other C55's yet.
Wife wanted an M3, but with 2 kids I reasoned with her that a 2 door was impractical.
So I gave her 362 powerful reasons to go AMG!
We compromised, by buying the Mercedes at a BMW lot.......
