Intake filters WET from rain!!!

Drove in the rain last night for about 20 min. in medium constant rain. This morning I checked the HKS filters on the LET Intake and they were soaking wet. I'm concerned about the harm water intake can cause the engine? Anyone else experience this with aftermarket intakes? Thanks in advance for any input.

Better flush out your motor oil to be on the safe side. Water sucked in during engine on, can cost Hydro lock, ( Bent rods, damage engine block). GL.

Flushing out your oil won't combat the chance of hydro-locking. Preventing the engine from sucking it in the first place is the only safety measure against that.

Hydro-locking occurs within the combustion chamber.

You did not ingest enough water to hydrolock the motor.

The intakes would have to be submerged into a paddle to get enough water to cause any damage.

Yep, if you damaged the motor you would have known it by now.

Think of it as a little steam cleaning to your piston tops and exhaust valves.

Dont worry.

Wow. I never even thought about the filter getting wet. I've driven in down pours. I wonder if a seal around the upper part of the engine compartment is not properly sealed........

he's talking about the LET intake, not the C3P intake.

on stock intake or the 55 airboxes, there's a drain on the bottom of the airbox to let the water out if there's too much water. there's none on the LET intake since the filter is on the front, but I wouldn't worry about it.
