I have a 2005 C55. Driving home today I noticed the the passenger side headlight would flicker approximately every 5 seconds. This was the first time I noticed this happening. I am wondering if the HID is starting to fail or if there is an electrical issue. The last few days it has been raining and foggy, although I haven't noticed this issue in wet weather before. The passenger light appears to be slightly less bright than the drivers light.
Any thoughts

I had this problem recently
Try and see if your light bulb is seated correctly in the housing
Chances are it is not

If it still does it
I think it may be the ballast or igniter

If you still have the warranty
Go get it checked out while it's free

I have seen MB dealers replace bulbs while you wait for free provided it's under warranty. Takes ten minutes to do if you schedule ahead.

My advice take up the freebee

i think c230coupe had a similar problem. I think he said it was either the bulb or the ignitor. I believe you can buy the hella ignitor kit for $50 at the dealership. Just do a search for c230coupe's thread in the w203 forums or pm him

I had similar problem. Turned out to be just a bad bulb. Check that first before getting into more expensive options (I.E. Ballasts)

swap left and right side bulbs, see if it happens again, if it doesn't it's not the bulb, might be a fault ignitor.

i had the same issues earlier this year. i took my car to the dealer after some research online, told him the 203s seem to have a headlight flickering problem...

he stopped me right away and said, we never changed those out? its a known issue. bad ignitors and ballasts. he mentioned something to the effect that they used under rated ignitor or something...

swapped out both left and right ignitors, ballast and bulbs.
