Updates, Rumors, and what not.
Busy day today chasing down parts after I got the word from my shop that the Supercharger project is in fact a go, so I guess I just scared myself. Had some tech look at it who have done this mod and said all the issues of running the pulleys and relocating the oil cooler along with an E55 thermostat goose neck. All and all these were things they expected so I guess I just freaked my self out with my pessimism.
I tried today to get or inquire about "The Block" renntech's OBDII handheld tuner but thats not out for my ECU type. I also heard MHP's third party tuner is nowhere to be found, like skipped town! and some 63 guys are without ECU for like a month now (dont know the truth behind this just what I've heard in my daily travels around town today.)
Not to mention what everyone should know. I heard more shops and tuners are operating with out any liability insurance. So If you get a tune or a part and the car blows up. You might just be up the creek with out a paddle. I think we should start asking to see policies by some tuners just to be on the safe side with our cars. If some thing goes wrong knowing you are covered is good piece of mind to have.
Anyway I will keep you posted on the SC project that is back. Hoping to make 450whp.

You got that right! The last thing I want is a blown motor by someone and then give to back to them to fix??? Never. IMO if your going to get into the tuning game have some insurance to cover your customers if god forbid something goes wrong. Rather than do the finger pointing game.

I thought i did it right i researched him found many happy customers, it was only after things went wrong did I find out the truth. You cant rely on anyone. The boards aren't helpful as they hold back information. and most of all your on your own. After all the money i spent on making my motor bulletproof, i can honestly utter three letters LS1

Very true, Even this forum holds back info. What gets me Is some shops load up a tune and send you on your way even though your car is spitting gas out of the tail pipe. Then when the motor craps out they are the first to say its not their fault.
I seen an evo on the dyno that had massive blow by, As I was watching the dyno pull I told Rich the owner to shut it down. The owner of the car said he went to a shop to build him a bottom end for cheap. Then the Owner said the engine builder bored the motor out with a ball hone!!! well after the owner of the evo confronted the engine builder about it. The evo owner was SOL. funny thing is I've seen this guys evo put down 400awhp and after the third party motor build it put down 260awhp. The only upside to this story was this guy didn't spend alot on his crappy motor build.
I remember Richard the owner of Dyno-Comp here in AZ gave the guy a quote for the build but this guy thought it was to much so he had some one else build the motor for cheap. Now this poor guy has to have his motor rebuilt again.
