I want to get an updated Nav disc...
I have a 2005 C55, and it has the 2006.1 version of nav disc in it. I would like to get a 2007.1 or better yet a 2008.1 version, but will either one work? I thought I read somewhere that you have to go year to year due to some updates in each disc, and if you skip years then you miss some updates and the disc won't work? Any truth to this? TIA!

I got the latest disc for Christmas. It took a few minutes to update the software from my 2006 disc (which IIRC is really a 2005 build) but is working flawlessly now. It even has some of the newer roads in my area.
Oh, and if anyone wants the 05/06 (whichever it is), I'll make a sweet deal on it.

I don't know what demographic MB's map maker is targeting, but the last update disc I used added trailer park icons that I can't turn off.

I don't have any trailer park icons on mine, though my area is well populated by them.
The graphics don't change as noted above. Same resolution. They could at least have included Pong or Pac Man on the things ...

The way I figure it the maps should cost ~$70 (that's what my TomTom maps cost) so the other $130 is going for POIs and additional manufacturer/dealer profit.
Everything else costs more on a Merc so I'm not surprised here.
