Intake Snorkles
So guys, with the C55s.
When I had my C320, I always wondered if the C350 tubes would fit the M112 engine bay, and yes it did, but it wasn't the perfect fitment. The kevlar intake tubes were pretty good when the car was warm, the stock plastic tubes started to heat up, and the air coming in was "warm". These kevlar tubes dont heat up at all, and a few C320 owners tried this project and also noticed a differece...
so... I contemplated the same concept into the C55...but... I looked at the CLK350 tubes.... and...yes... it works. AND it has a perfect fitment. The tubes are nearly twice the size of the stock plastics. I just put these on, didn't get a chance to drive with them yet...
sorry for the iphone quality.

I'm even thinking about adding resin ontop. see how that goes.
the reason why I continue to use these kevlar tubes is because this is one of the best "tubes" u can use on our motors, unless its one of those VRP CF tubes (if they ever make one for us!) these kevlar tubes work.

I have the E55 airboxes sitting in a box ready to put on my C55. I believe the boxes connect right up to my stock air tubes. If what you're saying is correct then I should be able to get the larger CLK350 tubes and connect them right up to the E55 airboxes. I wonder if the CLK 350 tubes would work with the Renntech Airbox??

the Renntech airbox for a c55 is made from a stock OEM C55 airbox. the location of the air tubes is the same. If the Tubes fit the C55 airbox it will fit the Renntech airbox. Sadly I will be parting ways with my renntech airbox as soon as my project is done.

Just an update.....
I picked mine up today and as you can see they are a bit larger than the stock ones. Although they do fit they are a tad too short to fit securely and properly in place. I found myself having to either fit one end or the other securely in place and I probably wouldn't trust it to stay in place on its own without some kind of help. With that being said, I think they could be made to fit better using some kind of extension connector and clamp for the narrow side that goes to the airbox. Again, both ends fit, it just needs to be a tad longer. Perhaps Advans can comment on this. Next, I'll try this on my Renntech airbox and see if it somehow fits better....

I totally forgot abt this thread.
It's a little short, I'd fit it towards the radiator more than the airbox, its just SLIGHTLY off, but it still sits great, atleast for me it does!
