Tire Mixing: Potenza RE-11 & Sumitomo HTRZIII?
Hello. I need to replace my rear tires & have the following dealer tire setup:
The rear tires are the ContiSportContact 2 245/35ZR18 92Y. ($224 each)
The front tires are the Sumitomo HTR Z III 225/40ZR18 92Y. ($111 each)

I was going to replace the rear tires with the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11:
POTENZA RE-11 255/35R18 90W BL ($278 each)

My HTRZIII front tires can go for atleast another 8,000 miles. Changing the fronts to RE-11 (225/40R18) would cost $221 each. However, I am willing to do this if mixing these different thread patterns can cause significant performance issues (drivability, steering, handling, etc.). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
