Replace Shift Knob on 2005 C55

Hello everyone - I recently purchased a 2005 C55 (which I absolutely love btw). I'm looking to upgrade the shift knob. I currently have what I believe to be the stock one, which I think looks a little cheap.

Anyway, I don't know how to remove the existing one, and therefore am having difficulty purchasing the replacement. Before I start twisting and turning things to try to remove the existing one, I want to make sure that those parts are intended to twist and/or turn. I would like to look at how the existing fits to make sure whatever I buy will be able to fit.

Any assistance about how to remove the shift knob and/or photos of a removed knob would be greatly appreciated.

thank you very much

You have to remove the trim were the cup holders and shifter is. then there is a clip i think that holds the knob in place. Thats all I know.

Pull the trim, under the boot there is a knurled nut, twist it and then pull the knob straight up.
