I know this topic has been beat to death and I have done a search but still have a question.

I am considering the purchase of an MB extended warranty for my 2005 C55 and 2005 CLK 500. They are both under original warranty and eligible for the MB extended warranty. I got some pricing from the local MB finance manager. I was wondering if these prices are negotiable. If so, how much wark up is generally in these products sold by the dealer? They want for example $3,695 plus an additional 15% becase the warranty was not bought when we bought the C55. This cost would provide an additional 3 years up to 75,000 total miles.

Has anyone bought this warranty and able to negotiate a lower price? How much room is there to negotiate. Thanks everyone!!

With the way the economy is today I would expect them to be in better negociating terms. Try what you got to lose.

thats about what i got offered on my 05 c55 when i inquired about 3 months ago (my warranty expires this month), close to $4K for coverage up to 75K. at the time i asked forum members what approx. maintenance would be for a non-track car, and the feedback i got was that i'd likely have less than half that in maintenance costs... so i opted to just go without it.

the best terms you'll ever get for a warranty are when u buy it new or very low miles...
