Eibach c32 sways on c55?

I know that the rear mounts/works fine, but am being told that the front mounts are different and won't work on a c55? Anyone know the deal or may clarify? It appears eibach never made bars for a 209 clk?

Thanks.

Sean

i believe a w203 is a w203. only difference being in the endlink between a standard w203 and a amg w203. the amg has 12mm endlinks and the standard has 10mm endlinks. it's always been my understanding that both the C32 and C55 had 12mm endlink holes.

Well a c55 actually has a w209 front end not w203. In any event I'm being told by the installer that he will not us the eiback bushings as the rubber doesn't box over the bracket. I believe he's worried that without those ears it will allow movement.

I previously thought the only issue was the endlink hole size as well. Comments about the lack of ears on the eibach front poly mounts?

Thanks. Sean

clk (w209) share most of the same suspension components (end link holes w/ amg and non amg being different of course)- including, but not limited to sway bars, springs, and rear camber arms. i am sure there are more- those are the only ones i know for sure from a mixture of experience/parts i've used on my car as well as manufacturers and vendors websites.

i'm can't picture the ears you are talking about? the bushings that came with the amg version of the h&r sways i have are working fine, although they did take a little attitude adjustment to get the fronts to fit in the bushing cups correctly.

I agree with you. I am told that the front AMG sway bar bushing have ears that go over the metal bracket on either side that help locate the bushings on the bracket so they don't move laterally. I am told that the eibach bushings lack this feature hence the reluctance of the shop to use same. Please elaborate more about forcing the bushings to fit. This was the first indication of a problem. Thanks. Sean

it's been a while- but from what i remember, the cup had a rounded groove in it, which the bushing did not have. it was a pretty snug fit to get the bushing to slide down in there. i can't remember what exactly that problem was, i just remember thinking something was jacked up. i check it relatively frequently and all is well. the h&r bushings had a little bit of an ear- but nothing like the factory pieces did. i douby it would be enough to actually keep the bushing in place if it wanted to move. however- there's no reason that bushing would have any lateral/side to side movement.
