Power steering or aircon noise
Well I just replaced the SC bearing and the idler pulley next to it, but this has unfortunatly not got rid of the grinding noise.
Replacing the bearing and pulley has definatly made a difference, but it has now made the gringing noise coming from the power steering / aircon area of the engine more pronounced.
Is there a common problem in that area that can make a nasty grinding noise ?

if its kinda of a whining noise and gets louder when you turn the steering wheel. It means your power steering fluid is low. the sound will go away once you refill it back to oem levels.

So the noise has got much worse and it has been diagnosed as coming from the aircon compressor. Shop guy says it may be a collapsed bearing, they are pulling the aircon unit out over night.
Anyone have previous experience in this type of problem ?
