AC compressor help needed urgently :(
I had the aircon unit pulled out of my car today, and the pulley bearing has totally collapsed. They are seeing if it has caused damage to the compressor, and have quoted me like $3000 if I need a new one........ insane.
Does anyone know what the bearing part no is, or maybe an NSK equivelent if mercedes doesnt sell the bearing as an individual component.
Also if the compressor is cactus, I found a new one for $595.
Does anyone know of a better price for the full unit?

Mercedes has quoted me $4000 for the AC compressor, plus $1000 for miscelanous hardware and install.
Can anyone please confirm that the AMG C32 unit is a Denso 7SEU16C, so I don't buy the wrong unit, with the wrong size belt pulley.
And does anyone know where I can get a new, or even remanufactured one, for a more reasonable price ........I have searched around in Australia and found nothing.
I really do not want to spend 5k on something that doesn't make it faster/better

I searched for a replacement pulley part number, but it looks like you cannot get the pulley separately.
An OE new AC compressor for the C32 is close to US$1,200 if I remember correctly.
There may be a few options to try before forking that type of dough out:
E-bay has a compressor right now ($224.99):
This is the link: the ad claims to be the correct part (i.e. for the supercharged M112K)
Parts.com has one for $760. Here's the link.
You may already be aware of a re-manufacturing company called BBA-reman:
If they've never seen the unit before, they may rebuild it for free!
http://www.bba-reman.com/content.asp...=free_rebuilds
Otherwise, BBA-reman could probably do it for a few hundred dollars.
Let us know the source you go with!

The compressor was damaged, so bearing replacement wasn't an option.
I am wondering if the standard length belt on an ASP pulley caused more tension on the belt, and lead to the collapsed aircon bearing, instead of the usual wear. I need a new belt, so I might look into one which is a fraction longer. Will have to search around the forum.
I am having the compressor shipped from
