18 inch AMG wheels

My dealer showed me the 18 in AMG range of wheels this morning. Has anyone upgraded to these? The one I'm looking at is ( I think) identical to the standard fit item on the new CLK55.

Do they weigh much more than the standard 17inch? Do they ride much worse? Do they handle better?

uuh...new CLK55 has 17s

do you mean that in the style of those on the new CLK55 in 18s? I want to get those too in the future, let me know how it goes. From what I know, the 18s are only slightly heavier than the 17s we have on the 32.

Frank, yes CLK55 has 17s in some markets, but 18s in others - see worldwide website www.mercedes-benz.com.

Anyway, I think the wheels my dealer offered to order are the same wheels as Germany gets as standard on the CLK55.

If you want to see other 18 in AMG wheels for C32, check the AMG link from the above website. (the composite 18s are beautiful, but v. expensive I fear) www.mercedes-benz/amg is where to look.

Talking

i asked the parts guy at a dealership today while doing service, if he knows the offsets for different type of rims like the CL type AMG rim in 18's and 19's.

He told me he doesn't know only knows part numbers, nothing else about the wheels.

Now tell me that's not messed up.
He's lucky i was in a hurry, sob.

you'll most likely never get anything out of the parts dept guy. The parts guy at the dealership where i got my car doesn't even know C32 has the "v6 kompressor" badge. When I went to ordered the badge he ask me "what badge?"
