I think I have the solution for SRT and SLK guys with fueling, but won't know till Saturday with the LET tuning session. C32's have in the tank pumps right. With the higher boost issues you can always use a map clamp. I'm sorting through this challenge one step at a time.

I DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE
Do the SLK/SRT guys run one fuel pump? Comming from E85 conversions over here-try a Walboro dual set up-those will flow 1000cc injectors all day at 35+psi of boost-with the right map-fuel shouldnt be an issue with a SC or Turbo car-fuel rails, injectors, pumps, map-those need to def be looked at with more boost!

70gs455 did a flow test on various fuel pumps including the stock one. He concluded the stock fuel system will at least support 450whp-500whp.

Yea well he's wrong, that might be pump capacity with no restriction but in reality the stock pump can't handle 370 with going 14-15 AFR

most of the regulars on the srt6 forum seem to agree with his conclusion..

http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/...ad.php?t=32034

the video i showed with 378whp was with a 12.5 afr.

If he was correct then why would everyone be running 17.1 AFR. Bruno (SLK-32 Germany) is the only one not having fueling problems and his car was tuned by AMG in Germany using a different pump. You will all know tomorrow when my car hits the Dyno. I was 14-15.1 AFR on the factory pump, and I am expecting 11-12AFR tomorrow.

Thumbs up

If I am not mistaken the most powerful C32 was the MKB 3.8 Komprssor making around 430hp and a s***t lot of Newton Meter

P.S: Dubai cars don't count... j/k

If your talking about the blue SRT6 he has a meth kit on it that will raise AFR. Also some of the cars he tuned had a Kenne Bell BAP

My last dyno was 377hp/367tq running a 185pulley, InMotion tune(only run 100pump gas) and other goodies with bone stock fuel system and AFRs are 12.2-12.4(O2 sensor mounted AFTER primary cat) at their leanest on the street and at the track.

Dyno'd saturday with the new fuel pump. 15.1AFR was reduced to 11.7 with plenty more fuel available. No bigger injectors needed, duty cycle was scaled back from 86-88%. This is the only mod you will need if you want to run the 185 or stacked pulley combo. The job takes about 10 minutes. The pump is only for SRT6 and SLK32 cars because the pump is an external one like ours.

so the c32's can't upgrade fuel pumps? also do you have a dyno you can post so we can see your results?

Wayne at LET has the dynograph, he should be e-mailing it to me. I posted my last dyno 377/378 which showed the lean contion here is the old one

No he's not. The hp numbers quoted were fwhp. The 450 fwhp limit becomes 370 rwhp, so the prediction is in-line with the actual results most are seeing.

The number also assumes 100% injector duty cycle - that might have not been explicitly stated but it's the (stock inj) curve closest to the top in the graph. And regarding the lean issue, not taking anything away from the talented tuners, but I doubt if they have enough insight into the ECM's to command the injectors to run static. While not the best idea from a dependability/reliability/safety margin standpoint, it is a way to obtain maximum fuel when trying to solve a lean condition. How many with a lean condition have verified thru real-time monitoring that their duty cycle is at/near 100% ?

why not just run a higher fuel pressure regulator? or crush the factory one to raise the pressure...

Good point. In those systems where there is enough fuel pump capacity, this scheme will work. In our C32/SRT fuel systems, the stock pumps do not have enough excess capacity for this to work. Now replace the pump with a more powerful one (or add an in-line booster pump) then this is a reasonable approach.

haters crazy
Is the fuel pump in C32 the same as the CLK55? If so, a fpr will indeed work.

It’s more typically the OE SLK32/SRT6 pumps that tend to manifest insufficient supply in performance-oriented applications.

AMG insisted upon SL55 pump upfitting when their Performance Studio SLK32 customers chose to do away with the fatherland's 250 kph restriction. No such stipulation with the W203 chassis. My conservatively modified 19 psi C32 maintains a remarkably steady 3.8 bar/55 psi at the fuel rail’s Schrader valve and a pre-catalytic converter ~12.5 A/F ratio through beyond the top of fourth at WOT...off-highway, of course.
That said, there is also no eleven-second C32 of which I’m aware.

The W208’s is external, whereas ours are packaged within the fuel tank.
Must I acknowledge your your ten-second runs yet again?! :D

The C’s FPR - along with those in SLK32/SRT6 and blackbenzz’ - is an integral function of the fuel filter. Some have successfully referenced its atmospheric vent line to read other than ambient; Kleemann among them with their M113 V8 supercharger upgrade. They do utilize a BAP with their OTC M112 V6 kit, however.
Seems there’s more than one way to skin a cat.
