just my luck.. pointless story

I was Driving in Scottsdale AZ today wondering why the AC crapped out in the "bang bus" (yes folks back to the mini van for a few weeks") As I'm fiddling with the AC control along side me rolls a black M3 as it passes me I'm Like "Its you!!!!" It was the local M3 with the plate AMGLOL. And here I am in the beat up minivan with a wide open road next to my nemesis and I can do nothing about it.

I start yelling at myself "Why did I have to do long tube headers!" I tell you It felt like a bad dream. Man I just wanted to smash this M3 into the ground. I've only seen his car in pics online and when I finally see it and it happens to be the perfect situation for a M3 BBQ and I'm in the "Bang Bus"

Hooley, i have yet to find an M series that gives me a great run. I know statistically a new M5 should be able to give me a run for the money..but the 2 I have had encounters with both got pulled on.

As far as an E46 M3 ... LOL not even in the same ballpark, i feel like im passing a Nissan Altima ...

Just think of it this way Hooley...

If you were in your C55K, you would have most likely been 10 miles further ahead and would have missed him anyways.

There is so much truth in this. When I drive the DD (Toyota Camary 2007), i find all sorts of potentials ... mainly due to driving the speed limit everywhere and they are able to catch me and pass ...

When i am driving the Kleemann... im always driving a bit faster than traffic, thus I never run up on anyone (very rare) ...

Guys, I don't want to put a damper on the "enthusiasm" here about our C-AMG cars, but shouldn't guys like Hooley and Alumar be comparing themselves to supercharged or turbocharged E46 M3's???

Stock vs stock, the C55 and E46 M3 are close (slight edge to the C55 in straight line acceleration, while the M3 has a slight edge to the C55 in handling).

There are supercharged and turbocharged E46 M3's out there that make an insane amount of power......how do the supercharged C55's compare? I honestly haven't seen any sort of comparison......EVER.....???

the difference is the license plate I wouldn't rock a AMG LOL unless my car was heavily modded especially since almost every AMG is faster than his bmw. So no I don't think we need the comparison. Hooley rocks it rightfully so.

The story behind this car (M3) is.. Its supercharged. But I've seen his dyno sheet. This guy will run into the wrong AMG sooner or later I just hope i'm behind the wheel of the AMG when it happens.

Mike, easy Solution: You obviously know where he parks the car. Go there at 5:00 PM and ask for a race. Money talks, BS walks!!!

I had a guy in a IS 350 passing me all the time when I used my DD Honda Accord V-6. Never said or did anything and I just watched him go for about 6 months. He'd pass on the right (emergency lane etc etc) One day, I saw where he worked and drove the C32 to work. I went in nicely and asked if that was his car, complimented him and asked if he'd like to see how it do against a C32. A few days later after work we went to an industrial area and the race was on. Having owned an IS 350 myself before the C32, I knew what the car would do and sure enuff, it was over before it was over. Anyway, to this day. he sees me and waves and says hello. At least he wasnt a jag -off about it.. Ask the M for a race, thats all you can do. Dont brag, dont tell him what you got. Just ask him to prove the LOL part of that!!! Actions always speak louder than words. I regularly shut up guys in their "executive class" cars, BMW 760 iL , S500s and 550s etc etc since they love the left lane and their cell phone and hate to see a mere "C class" pass them. Hit the gas and shut em up!!!

I can't speak for 760iL and S500 but S550 is suprisingly quick at highway speeds when it comes to passing or short time accelerations. In S mode and properly downshifted it picks up speed effortlessly and with no drama for such a pig of a car. The funny thing is I always wonder how my 550 would do against wife's C55 on the highway or from the dig and just didn't have a chance to line them up. When summer FINALLY comes to Chicago I'd like to see what would happen.

Brother in law in Barrington (4 Matic ) has one and I have driven it numerous times. Its a PIG of a car, very agile for its size, BUT very very heavy!!!! We've run down 53 several times and although its fast, its not quick at all and from a digg its not even a challenge. Same with the 760 iL, very FAST , but not quick at all. He is constantly amazed with how quick my lil C Class is and always says, "I had no idea." I romped a Boxster S the other day on SB 53 with no problem coming off the Lake Cook Sweeper to SB 53.

I think the S550 feels faster than it is because the car is just so big and heavy. Same with 760iL.

When summer FINALLY comes to Chicago I'd like to see what would happen.[/QUOTE]

Boy you got that right, its cold and rainy here (in the 50s today).
