C32 AMG

Clicking noise? C32

My C32 is making a clicking noise. Upon start up its louder, but quiets down after warming up. Any one know what this issue could be, or how to fix it? Thanks!

sounds like the lifters are losing their oil prime upon sitting overnight

2002 C32 AMG

It could also be that smog thingy that sits on the bottom right next to the break lines.
Mine was ticking everytime I would start my car in the morning then go away after warm up.

What mileage does your car have? If high, it's possible you have lifter or other issues; however, it sounds like a fairly common problem that a lot of us have / had.

Hopefully it's just your purge control valve. Check the photo out below - it should be in the front driver's side of the engine bay. See if this is where the ticking is coming from.

In any case, aside from being a little annoying, it's not a problem. The issue appears to be faulty metal brackets (and/or the lines going towards the firewall being tied up in a particularly way).
Aside from replacing it / finding the replacement bracket, you may want to leave it be....
