Thumbs up

Wow, that's a great shot, just as you start moving!
Great times, I guess that trip to renntech was well worth it!

I do agree with James that your tires should yield to better times if you can hook up, I belive your wheels are lighter and the tires are smaller than those 18s. Next step, 13 flat!!!

Cool What a launch!!

It was great fun to dial in and give him a full second head start! I had to really focus to get a good launch. Dialed in 12.15 and broke out at 12.137 on one run. I have a couple of videos from this experience. Hey Pocholin, My401 thinks he can take you now!

If I put street slicks on my car I could beat him. And once I do the pulleys or the chip I'll be getting closer to you! (just a little bit closer, not much )

Run with the 17's

You should definitely run the 1/4 with your stock wheels so we can all see the improvements strictly related to your RENNtech Mods.

We can also then compare the time differences due to the 18's with street slicks. Are they Comp T/A Drag radials?

Thanks for the info on your RENNtech mods! Being from the east coast, I may make a similar pilgrammage when it's time for me to do the power mods.

To Carl AMG, the tires on My401's C32 are 275/35-18 Hoosier DOT heat cycled road racing tires on my original E55 wheels. I have never used them for fear of breaking 12.00 ET. If it made greater than .100 sec. difference in his 60 ft. time is debatable because of his RENNtech mods. I do know that he never before got below 2.024 sec. 60 ft. time. Maybe next week I'll give them a try. By the way, the wear factor on those tires is 40, meaning they are pretty sticky.

James, you might want to try the Hoosier tires and after the 1/8 mile run just brake hard so you don't run under 12 secs.

That way you can see your 1/8 mile times and compare them to your other times on street tires.

The other choice is to go to a non NHRA track (like the one before San Antonio) where they let you run 11s even with out a helmet!

Thanks for the info on the tires. I'd say with a 1.88 60ft time the tires definitely helped his time fairly significantly. Sometimes the toughest part of adding the extra power is putting it to the ground. On the other hand, the bigger, heavier wheel and tire combo could soak up some horsepower.

I think the debate as to the tires effect is excatly why I really would like to compare his times with the stock 17" wheel and tire combo.

stock wheels (launch)

OK, Maybe Wednesday I will run with stock wheels. If Cannon is up to another beating. (4 of 6 runs) I was getting burned out with redneck 1/4 mile racing. I want to run the road course soon.

I do want to see some of your times on your street tires, I just ran 13.128 and 13.173 on street tires not being able to power brake at all because I'd spin bad!
Check the whole story in the E55 thread.

I need some hoosiers now!

For the road course...

You should have had RENNtech throw on their lowering springs for you while you were there if you want to start on the road course; they work very nicely!

Look forward to your post on your next 1/4 mile runs.
