Kinda scared of wheel spacers. HELP!!!!

Hey guys, if you look below at the posted threads you will find that some Monarch wheels can be bought from James at ACGSD. I emailed him and said i wanted the Euro 63RS 19's for my C55. He emailed me in response saying that he was doing a C55 and would let me know how it turned out. Soon after i recieved an email stating that the rears went on the car fine, but that i would need 5mm spacers for the front ones to clear the brakes/calipers. I am very hesitent because i was told that the Mercedes front Hub was designed differently than most automakers. The maximum size you can put safely on the front wheels will be 5mm. The reason being is that the Mercedes front hub that are 66.6mm in diameter are only 8mm thick. So if you put anything over 8mm your wheels will be sitting on the bolts not on the hub - exception being spacers made to bolt onto the wheel itself like Brabus. If i am looking at this right that means the bolt itself will only be in the hub 3mm. Is that safe? 3mm? or do i go with the Brabus ones? I will be running this car hard once the motor is finished and am afraid of turning or something and loosing a wheel...i know it seems far fetched but its all i can think about. What do i do? Any and all advise would be appreciated, and anyone who has this please feel free to respond. Thank you guys alot. I just dont want to make a costly mistake.

any H&R or eibach spacer that is 10mm or larger come with a hub centric lip to allow the wheel to sit on the supporting lip, and not to be only supported by the bolts.

Its a completely valid concern.

What you need to look out for when purchasing spacers, is that they are hub centric. Meaning that they are just like the wheel and fit snuggly on the hub. When you use spacers you also want to use extended lug bolts, and if you are going larger then 8mm, you will want a spacer that has a hub centric lip on it.

Attached is a photo.

You'll see in the center that a lip sticks out, that lip will now support the wheel allowing the wheel to be hub centric and not putting all of the stress on the lug bolts.
