I got them from Steve of course for half the price

Steve,
explain the difference again for a layman between Euro spec and US spec Bi-xenons. Same price for each? And will I have trouble getting replacement bulbs down the road if I have the euro spec bi-xenons?

Thanks,
Still saving for those bi-xenons I want so badly,
John:

a small difference in lightpattern...the xenon bulbs are all the same (D2S - same brand and all)...

EURO lightpattern

US pattern

...and further more a small cosmetic difference:

Left is EURo & Right is US

Does the front bumper have to be removed to take out the whole headlight?

What exactly will I have to change when upgrading from standard xenon to bi-xenon?
Is it basicly like upgrading from non xenon or is it easier?

going from xenon to bi xenon is just a matter of a plain swap of lights...current ones out - bi xenons in - done...so easier then going from halogen to (bi) xenon!

MB bi-xenons are quite impressive!

Yesterday I had a shop install a pair of Mercedes OE bixenon headlight assemblies I bought from Performance Products, and Monday morning I have an appointment with a dealer to do the XENON=PRESENT activation. Meanwhile I've been using the trick of turning on the lights, waiting, and then starting the car to get the lights to turn on.

Tonight I got a chance to try the lights on a darkened 4-lane road I normally take as part of my daily commute. I must say the Mercedes bi-xenon lights are quite incredible. The BMW 330i I traded in for the C32 also came with bixenons, but the C-class bixenons seem to throw out so much more light its amazing. Low beam mode works very well and I can definintely see much farther down the road than with the halogens, and high beam mode is absolutely amazing in what it lights up.

If anyone here routinely drives on unlit roads and doesn't have the bixenons I strongly recommend getting them.

PP - so US spec bi xenons...the euro spec bi xenons would have been even a tiny bit more of an improovement...

That's correct. With overnight shipping, the private shop's charge for headlamp swap, and the MB dealer's activation fee all added up it was quite the expensive upgrade, but I wanted it done fast and this was the fastest and easiest way. Yes, I've researched the boards and know it could have been done cheaper, but I'm happy with the upgrade, which is whats important at the end.
