I've been having the same issue for awhile now, too. Surging idle..fluctuating idle up and down..
Here's list that could be the reason:
1. Intercooler pump
2. Throttle Cable Actuator (bad connector) expensive and tedious to replace
3. TPS
4. Pedal Assembly sensor
5. Vacuum Hose leaks
6. Loose engine bolts

So there, start the trouble shooting by process of elimination.
Good Luck..

I have had similar problems sporadically. Obd codes p0121 and p0221 point to the accelerator pedal. I have a local indie with a star system to look further before replacing parts. I'll keep you posted.

Has anyone found where to buy the accelerator pedal sensor seperate from the pedal assembly?

Importecautoparts.com sells them for about $155.
This is the whole pedal assembly. I don't think you could just get the sensor.

W203 slightly modified
Just remember that Chrysler used C32K engines a few years ago directly from AMG. It was in that convertible they sold. Maybe those are cheaper.

I just did an OBD scan and a P0123 showed up. But, this never shows up as a CEL. It also points to throttle/pedal sensor issue. I'm not sure if this caused my car to fail smog inspection (not because of emissions but because smog machine could not detect ECU readings). It thinks my ECU has been reset or battery had been disconnected. My mechanic said I have to drive a couple of hundred miles to come up with a reading.
