Extended warranty..Last year!!!

Hey guys hope all is well, Well my rare C32 tectite Grey will be visiting a MB dealership in Wlliamsville NY next week. I am going to get them to check a few things before my extended warranty runs out. Can you let me know if there is anthing else i should ask about!!!!..

1) Control arm bushings (hearing a popping noise when it hit bumps or hard turns). Bushings are in the front of the vehicle right??

2) Glycol contamination test. If found positive than they should change the radiator to a Behr, new torque converter and tranny.

3) My IC pump is on its way out and I am dealing with an AMG specialist there and on the phone he stated the symtoms of an IC pump failure. the part is already on order. I have some peace of mind to see that this guy knows what he is talking about.

4) Air Pump compaign..still have not done it since i heard of some horror stories about the vehicle running different. But now that I am taking it in, I have no choice.

5) Finally I would like to make sure my supercharger is functioning well. Is there a way to diagnose this. I do have the chirp around 1200-2000 rpm. Is that the magnetic clutch slipping in the super charger.?

1. there are bushings through out the suspension components. have them check the front control arms and sway bar bushings. also have them check the sway bar end links front/rear.

2. yes, but most likely they'll just rebuilt the tranny.

3. the oem bosch pump are prone to fail even if they replace it now you might have issue later on as well, but this is a simple enough fix that you should not be worried about.

4. no idea what this air pump campaign is.

5. the chirp you hear is from the magnetic clutch engaging. you can have them check it and replace it if necessary. it's not that big of a issue if it's not slipping.

also have the dealer check all the ignition wires and coil packs. oem wires are junk and known to fail.

crank position sensor should be checked out.

and lastly check for valve cover oil leak as well as the smaller recirculation cover for leak as well.

those are just the stuff that you can fix/check without having the symptoms.

seat module power leak, over head dome light power leak, and stereo head unit power leak may or may not be diagnosed until they started going bad.

Regarding the air pump campaign, it's well documented here on this forum that many people had issues of engine response and ic pump failures after taking the car in. In my case it took quite a while before the engine response returned to normal.

Curious, did you import your car form the US? I see you drive to NY state for warranty repair.

Frank W thank you for the reply and info.. appreciate it..

03MB32 yes i did import the car from the states.. Its 02 and i only have 56 000km and its a Tectite Grey colour. very rare on a C32. when I bought it, the extended warranty was transfered to me but only applicable in the states. No big deal for me since i live along the border..

Mine is running out this december too so I'll try to have them look at these also. So far they have replaced my air pump which died in July, heated seats, diff, and a few other things since the "main" warranty expired.

Well came back from the dealership located in Willamsville (Buffalo) New York and I must admit so far they did a fine job . There is an AMG specialist there named Carry who knows his stuff which is a breath of fresh air.

Furthermore, he was telling me he has no problem working on cars that are moded. My car has H&R sway bars and springs and still changed my bushings and end arms under warranty. He said the only modded AMG he never touched under warranty was an AMG with a Klemman supercharger.

IC pump was changed, without even testing it. I tolled him the symptoms on the phone, and the part was ordered immediately even before i got there.

No Glycol contamination. He tolled me I had the newer version of the Valero rad with the new crimps.

Service campaign with the air relay sensor done and said flashed with the latest sofware. No power lose or rough idle. I am glad I held off on that campaign.

Handling is tighter and what a beast. I can once again feel the rear tires gripping for dear life..hahaha,,
