HID Questions
Been searching around the forums here, and coming across some information here
Now my vehicle has the HID D2S bulb (HID bulb) from Mercedes. Now does this have it's own Ballast.
https://mbworld.org/forums/group-pur...d-members.html
That link has a special in the vendor section where it's $60 for the ballast, bulb, and everything.
I was going to go with 6,000 HID headlamps and foglamps.
Now as for the Driver lights I was going to get a set of LED's, and then be done with my front lighting.
Is that a good kit, and also Would I need to get the full kit for the headlamps, or just the bulbs?????

dude i dont understand your post
do you have bix or not?
if you do you only need the bulb
if you dont have bix then you need the kit and it wont use the D2S bulb.
If you want HID for your fogs then you need the kit and i forget the bulb number
9006?

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
all the $60 kits are all cheap chinese ballasts and bulbs. Its not a good as oem but there a lot cheaper. Thats seems about right for 35watt ballast kit.
All the $60 kits are pretty much the same. They should be ok.

FYI, I bought from DDM tuning (their DDM slim kit) and have had no issues for about a year.
If you have stock MB HID and want to go higher in color temperature (stock is around 4300k), then you need a 6000k D2S bulb only, not the full kit. You will utilize the stock ballasts.
Full kits offer specific length bulbs with generic connectors that are not D1/D2 compatible. So for the fogs, you'd need a full kit. But I honestly wouldn't put HID in fogs - I've seen it done, and not only does it look bad but it can blind the hell out of oncoming traffic because fogs are normally just diffusers, not directed light like lowbeams are.
