Wheel widening OEM alloys

So... thinking about going back to the 17' OEM alloys on my C32. But I want to run wider tires. So that means wider wheels.

The 19's that I have a awesome but for track days they would not be ideal. And for driving around in San Francisco with poor road conditions the ride is too stiff on 30 series tires.

Any ideas?

Miguel

What tire size are you trying to run?

We know from members here that for the front tires, you can run a rear rim with the rear tire size without rubbing. As for the rears, I think 255's will be as wide as you'll find a proper tire size in. I don't see anything in 265 and 275's that are close to the same OD as the original tire. I'm pretty sure anything past a 275 will require some surgery to fit under the rear wheel wells. The 255's should fit fine on a stock 8.5" wide wheel.

Not looking for super wide. I guess I want my C32 to have a better ride. And I suppose that going back to the stock 17's would bring back some additional accelleration. Will try the 255/40's but I dont want to ruin the handling.

Any thoughts?

Miguel
