Sounds like my IC pump is about to go down...

I'm hearing this buzzing sound when the car turns on, and on occasion when I'm at a stop. Sounds like it's coming from the left side of the engine, which leads me to believe it's an IC pump.

Now, seeing as I have a warranty, should I just let them handle it, or should I upgrade the pump? I'm not really interested in getting a bigger heat exchanger, yet.

The ic pump is actually on the passenger side, below the smog pump.
Fwiw, the HE lowers the intake temps quickly and is def worth it. Just FYI, The stock held about 500 cc of liquid while the HE from EC for example held about 1200-1300cc. Also the bigger cores.

The noise is on the passenger's side. I meant left side when facing the hood, heh.

If you do get the OEM pump, make sure the part no. is A000 500 03 86
its the "newer" version of the IC pump.

iirc the 2nd pump failures will throw a dtc code...since you have warranty, have your workshop/dealer hook up to star and have a look.
