K & N Filter installation - advice please
I took my vehicle to a shop to have the K&N filters installed, after the installation was complete I noticed that the adhesive gaskets that came with the filters were not installed. The technician advised that the filters fitted perfect with enough pressure from the cover to give a 100% seat and the gaskets were not neccessary. The car goes like hell but I am concerned as if they were not required why were they in the box??

mine had them. i installed them. that same filter will work on several different cars- it's possible some models require them and others don't. either way- i installed them anyway. there can't be any ill effects from using them even if they aren't actually needed.
