Exclamation Don't drive around without your low beam bulbs
Just a friendly notice on not to drive/turn on your lights without a low beam xenon bulbs in the connector. I had one of mine bulb removed because it was burned. After 1-2 hours of driving, i noticed there are sparks on the outer HID projector. So I took the light cover off to see whats going on. the connector was blasting electricity sparks non-stop. the worst thing is that it melted the rubber seal ring and small area of the connector.

odd when I was testing my bulbs in my bmw I noticed only one spark on ignition not continuous sparks. I wonder if the control unit is bad or something. It doesn't sound like that should be normal operation, but I could be wrong :\

What I thought our vehicles would do is turn off the power if there was nothing there.

I thought the stock system was supposed to stop trying to ignite after a few tries (and throws up the bulb error code on the dash).

I thought so too, maybe after 2-3 times starting the car... the sparks already melted the surrounding area....

its supposed to but how many of us actually tookout the old one without replacing it ? are these stock hearlights ? or ebay special ?

do a search on the w203 forum they are always trying to put hid kits on their cars
