HELP: Pop when turning in reverse

Hey I have a 2005 c55 amg I bought with 19k miles 3 months ago. Now at 26,000 miles when the car has been sitting in the cold and I reverse and turn the wheel there is sometimes 1-3 pops that can be heard and felt throughout the car. Only happens the first time you reverse after sitting in the cold then it won't occur again. Any ideas?

worn out suspension piece somewhere. perhaps a sway bar end-link or ball joint. you're going to need to get the car up in the air and do an inspection...

I had some similar noises arise a few months after I bought my car as well. I was really worried that it was going to end up being the trans. Turned out when I took it to the dealer there was a leak at the sensor on the backside of the tranny, it needed new bushings front/rear, and they also found a small oil leak on the motor while in there. They took care of all of that and no more weird noises.

Are you sure it's not just the tires rubbing on your fenders or inside your wheel well?

I've not figured it out yet, but I have the same noise. I only get it on first start. It's always when the engine is cold (not "cold" as in frozen - I live in Houston). It happens after backing out of parking spot and seems to happen just about the time I tap brakes and shift from reverse to drive. It sounds kinda tinny on mine. Could be calipers shifting?

I have always had a strange metalic clicking noise when reversing or loading and unloading the drivetrain substantially. It soulds like it's coming from the left rear axle- parking brake parts? Who knows. I took the shop forman for a ride. He heard it and had no clue. They torqued everything down and still makes noise.
