A friend today told me about DirectHits, http://www.directhits.com/. He said that when talking to some friends with later model cars, this helped them run lower octane fuels on the track. Care to test it out it there is an application for the C32?

Common Steve, I thought you knew better than believe claims like these:

"Testimonials"

This is what Nology and Fast wires were doing, adding capacitors to plug wires. Every Nology car we tested lost power. Fast Wires went out of business several years ago.

I wasn't going by the testimonials. A friend has an old 240Z that he rebuild and tracks. He told me that some other guys with newer cars were running these with some success. He made it sound like these cars saw track time all of the time and were used for racing in various leagues. He said they were doing this in place of running higher octane fuels - basically to save money on mixing or reducing the mix some. Personally I have no idea or experience with them.

I did look at the testimonials and they seemed be your standard "made a big difference" type that seem to good to be true.

This why we are doing a lot of our own parts development. There are a lot of "snake-oil" salesmen/companies that can sell ice to Eskimos.

If are interested we can try it on our C32. We will need longer plug wires though. They will have to be custom made.

Thats just like a stronger ignition system, or a blaster coil. They don't make any power typically, unless you have a highly modified car; i don't even know if that holds true for mercedes. i just remember from my Type R.
