small problem, but a pain...

It's a nit, but a pain. My son unscrewed the door lock in the rear seat and now it will no longer engage with the mechanism. The door is permantently locked from the outside.

Any ideas? Do I need to go to the dealer or is there an easy way to fix this?

Thanks.

You can take off your door panel and get the door pin stick back up again. Not too hard to do it. Do you know how to take off the panel?

I hope my memory serves right, there are 3 areas where you have to unscrew:

1) SRS badge, there should be a screw behind it
2) The plastic handle, there should be a screw behind it
3) The door lock latch, there're a couple of screws there

Then tug the whole panel UPWARD (OR you might be able to pull the panel out a bit and get the door pin to fit in place without tugging the whole thing out).

I hope I've saved you an hour of labor at the MB dealership!! Good luck!!

That happened with my crappy old set of Brabus Door pins, Try hitting lock, getting a needle nose and fish for the top of the door pin screw then yank it out. If not take the door pannel off.
Harris is coorect on the screws
