Here is the message for trunk springs

The original message was for opening "faster" so
just reverse to have trunk lid "go up slower".....

____________

After banging my head on the trunk lid a few times when getting stuff out, I noticed that the lid wasn't going ALL the way up. The lid usually seemed to stop at a detent position, approx. 3/4 open. It could be pushed further open by hand.

Simple fix, open trunk, remove the 4in by 8 inch Rear Light access panels coverings inside the trunk, and move the spring(s) to the next rearward position.

Mine were in the #2 hole and I moved them to the #3 hole (most rearward).
All I needed was a vicegrip to grab the spring and a flashlight. Literally a 2-minute job.

One note, since the trunk will open all the way, be sure you will have overhead clearance.

If you need even more opening force, there supposedly are adjustment holes at the other end of the spring. Those adjustments seem to be harder to access though.

deck lid

this is easy ,,, move spring location to closer hole. (spring located behind carpet panels on side where trunk arms go.)
However I had problems sinces moving springs that the lid doesnt open all the way and I've hit my head several times I will probley move back springs.
