Upgrading non-navi to MB navi worth it?

That what my audio guy said. Perhaps he's wrong, or there is a fiber optic to regular cable converter. In any case, I know that I read on this forum somewhere that an aftermarket amp is being developed that will accept the fiber optic input and allow us all to upgrade eventually.

I felt the exact same way and after 3 tries + lots of $$ I've finally got it right. I did it mostly for cosmetic reasons. The maps were secondary. I can't say I have any regrets even after all the time and money I've wasted. OEM FTW.

Since you are in Atlanta, call Bryan at Cartronics: www.cartronics.com. He can source a COMAND unit for you and also do the STAR programming. He is in Atlanta and his install and customer service are great. Tell him that James Andrews sent you.
He found my COMAND for $1450 including the nav DVD. Make sure he knows you want the one that fits flush without an adaptor kit!
He has all sorts of goodies for MB, including a remote start system that works using your keyfob, which is next on my list!
