Dealer screwed up....
So I had to have my windshield replaced today (rock hit it on the interstate), the auto glass guy from my insurance company came and was finishing up when he asked if I had had the car serviced recently.
I asked why, and he produced, from the pocket where the wiper mechanism sits, the cap for my transmission fluid dip stick (the one that says MB Shop only on it, sits behind the motor on the passenger side).
I look, and no dip stick. I had the car serviced about a month ago and they did a transmission flush but apparently did not put the dip stick back on.
My concern is that with so much pollen in the air, that some could have made its way into the transmission. Called the dealer and left a message with the service manager but no word yet. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. It was supposed to be a closed system and wasn't supposed to need servicing. So there wasn't one included. People buy them to check their fluid, but I'm pretty sure the tranny didn't come with one.

My first thought was that your all-knowing windshield guy actually messed you up because there isn't supposed to be a dipstick, only that non-removable cap (or at least, leave it there even if you do remove it)

i think it should be ok, the transmission access isn't in a spot where a lot of debris would be floating to it. But if you really want, i would just change your tranny fluid. But i think you should be ok.

ahhhhhhh I see now, they left it lying there in the plastic area and didn't put the cap back on. Call up the dealership and see what they say, ask for free flush and fill
