c32 owners, do you have side window shades?

as described in mbusa's site
2002 Accessories
L/R Side Window Sunscreen ($53.00 per side)

These fine mesh sun shades are easily installed and removed. Keeps the sun off your rear seat and passengers while providing added security by shading the contents of your rear seat cargo. $53.00 per side.

what does that look like? is it an automatic system like the rear window shade? or is it like the $10 set you can get at babie 'r us?

I don't have them, just the rear blind - but then again I live in Manchester UK, so an AMG umbrella would be money better spent.

Side window blinds are entirely manual - clip on & off. Don't look too impressive IMHO. Would not recommend buying without seeing them first.

Hope this helps.

I have them on my S500.

They are like the rear sunshade in a way. How they work is they are hiddin inside each rear door and the at the bottom of the window there is a very discreet latch. What you do is just pull the latch up and the latch hooks into this little groove right near the handle on the top. The material is the same as the rear sunshade and visibility through it is the same aswell.

If it was a sunny day, and I was riding in the backseat I would definetly like to have them available to use. And plus, it's just another little gadget to have in your car, and the price on them is unbeatable.

I have the side shades on my C32. It will definitely help if you are living in a "sunshine all the time" city. The main reason for me to have them is I dont want to have a 10% tint on my windows. I like the factory blue tint very much. Since its just a clip on thing, I can easily install or remove as I wish. I would say its a nice option to have during the summer. It looks quite dark at night, especially when you need to shoulder check. This is something that u have to be careful.
