Once I get the car up to 40 mph and leave it there, you can clearly hear the buzzing/droning sound.

Yeah, the sound is there, but it does not sound like a pump. It kind of sounds like the torque converter grinding. Best explanation would be that it sounds like the sound that comes off after the 1500rpms in W mode JERK. What happens is that the car jerks, and there is a droning noise. Only problem is that the noise is constant at 40 mph and the car is very jerky in lower speeds. I even had the transmission reset done by MB, but did not fix the noise. I hear grinding sounds around 15 to 20 mph as well which leads me to believe it could be my ORIGINAL rotors being very worn and the pad catching on the rotor. What I fear is that there is something wrong with the torque converter and it is somehow damaged and not engaging properly and at 40 mph, it does that horrible buzzing noise. BTW, as I mentioned in previous posts, I have only a few year old transmission, torque converter, and tcu(replaced under warranty by mb).

I hear the noise best under very light acceleration at 40 mph.
I am truly sorry you have the same problem Chazz, but I think that it has to have something to do with the brakes although in your case, it did not help to replace the rotors. I am running out of options, and I even had my transmission checked at mb and the fluid was correct and I have the upgraded behr version radiator, so I have no glycol contamination. The new torque converter SHOULD NOT brake or be damaged within few years of driving. I think there is now three c32s with the same problem. As for the rest of you guys, please take your C32 to around 40 mph and keep it there at low throttle and constant speed, and tell us if you hear any dronning/grinding/buzzing noise at 40mph EXACTLY.

tks for the update, I did replace my front pads but not the disc, now I'm curious if that has something to do with the vibration but the next post stated that he did replace his pads and disc but still had the problem. So
we might need to consider the service bulletin as an option

Given the facts, you do have a point rickad. I dont know if I should just try the bulletin or if I should just replace the rotors and pads up front and go from there. I am short on money at the moment, so either of these options have to wait. However, if you do the bulletin first, please let us know if it fixed it. Good luck.

One thing I noticed is that the vibration/buzzing gets more emphasized on a rough pavement it. It seems to be OK on smooth ones. Also my acceleration
seems to be OK.

Just out of curiosity, do any of you guys that have had the same problem as me have any updates? My problem has gotten worse as the car now jerks every time I push the pedal after letting the car coast and the grinding noise is quite louder as soon as my car changes from first to second gear. If I keep it at speed around 15mph constantly, you can hear rubbing noise like two surfaces grinding against each other coming from the lower front of the engine. You can feel the vibration, and as soon as you let off the gas, the car downshifts violently(kind of like you downshift with the stick)and jerks the car. I know some of you were going to change the tranny fluid. How did that go? Did it fix the problem. I am getting desperate with this car. It has become a piece of crap and with the tranny problem, it drives worse than my dad's ford escort. I am planning on changing the rotors and pads soon, but I doubt it will help.

I just had my wheels balanced and all four of them were off, also replaced my front rotors looks like that did the trick. So far I have not heard any buzzing sound at 40MPH and the shakes also cleared.

THANK YOU rickad for your reply. I appreciate it very much. You just confirmed what I thought would cure the noise. I will be replacing my rotors and rebalancing my wheels as well.

OHHH NO. Dont tell me that did not fix the issue. I am about to replace all the brakes and balance all my wheels this Wednesday. I will let you know what happens, but by the sound of this, it might be the torque converter making that noise. I hope it is nothing serious....

I just replaced all the brake pads and the front rotors today. Needless to say, it did not fix the 40 mph buzzing/grinding noise or the lower speed roughness. I am now running out of options and thinking that the only thing that it could be now is either the wheel bearing(front left wheel), or the torque converter making the noise. What do you guys think? Has anybody had problems with a bad wheel bearing and what kind of noise does it make? On a side note, the 40mph noise does get louder when I turn the steering wheel to the right and it gets softer when I turn it to the left.

Just wanted to let everyone know who is having the same problem as me that new eagle f1 gt tires (mounted and balanced) fixed the noise and the car is riding normally now. I have yet to do an alignment on the car. Thank you for all for the suggestions and I hope it doesnt happen to someone else.
