ECU
Hey I am new to the forum, I have a 2005 C55 AMG I bought it about 3 years ago with 21000 miles on it and since then have put on it about 85000 miles, My car has 106,000 miles on it and runs like it did when I bought, I love my car and take very good care almost OCD I have changed the oil every 5000 miles, flushed the brake fluid every 40000, tranny fluid every 50000, and of course everything else that the car needs, I am hoping to get atleast 200,000 out of her. My question is this i wanted to an ECU upgrade in and I have looked around and it seems the average gain in HP is like 25-35hp and likewise on the torque. For those of you who have already chip tuned your cars, did you notice a difference in acceleration like the push you into your seat feeling, if so how drastic a difference. I love that feeling and it seems a chip is the cheapest and easiest way to give her a few more HP. Thank you for your input!

When I bought my car the only performance mods it had were k&n air filters and the LET tune. A friend of mine baselined 305hp to the wheels on his w209 clk55 and I put down 317hp I believe. I don't think you will gain more than 10-15hp on a tune unless its in conjunction with either an airbox and/or headers. I currently am at 337hp with k&n's, kleemann headers, downpipe, ECU and deleted secondaries. This netted 48 more hp than stock.
In anycase, before my headers and different ecu, I ran a 13.1, which is a few tenths of a second faster than stock c55s. I drove one bone stock c55 before I bought mine and really didn't feel too much of a difference seat-of-the-pants wise. Headers though, made a huge difference.
