Hello, I was wondering if the stock C55 rims are powdercoated.

I have no idea, but if mine are real AMG wheels they are probably the most cheaply finished wheel I've ever had on a car. I have areas that are rough and dirt just sticks in it and then other areas where the paint/powder coat has runs in it.

Why are you asking though?

I don't think so. I've seen the paint flake off of C55 wheels.

I think your wheels may have been refinished at some point in time. I bought a new amg wheel directly from mercedes and it was flawless. Trust me, they are done very well and cleanly.

I've curbed mine and I have seen the paint flake after wards. Then only reason wheels would flake is if the wheels have been refinished incorrectly or if the wheel has been damaged.

I always thought that powder coating bonds to the metal and will not flake, but maybe I'm wrong.

^that may be the case. I was planning on redoing them flat black anyway

Hi guys, I was asking because my dad told me he thinks they are powdercoated but I am not sure. I need to have mine refinished and I know a good place that does powdercoating. If anybody does know please let me know.
