Does anyone keep an extra set of winter tires and rims lying around for those snowy months? I like the old school CLK AMG rims, what do you guys think?
I wish I could see a pic of the C55 with the rims mounted. I don't have photoshop

I'm going to be selling my 17' AMG rep wheels with Hankook Snow Bears for $1,000 if you are interested. I will be snapping pix later today. They look way better than those wheels in the ebay ad (imo).
These are the wheels > http://www.carshine.com.au/Wheels/Wh...e%203%20BT.jpg
They look identical to the real ones. The tires still have 80%+ tread on them.

Can someone give me some input as to what size rim/tire would be a good snow tire size? Would it be beneficial to go with a smaller rim (16" or 17") and a larger sidewall as opposed to a standard rim (18") and a regular sized snow tire.
I really appreciate any input.

I believe that you need at least a 17" rim to clear the stock 4 piston front brake calipers.
In general, get the narrowest tire that you can fit onto the rim if you want to get the best traction in snow. And obviously, get dedicated winter tires. The manual recommends 225/45 R17 tires on all 4 corners for winter tires.

I believe give or take our tires are 26" in diameter. Do you know if 225/55-17 would fit our cars? I believe this would be 27" in diameter. I could go down and measure the wheel well now but if anyone knows off-hand I would really appreciate it.

I'm trying to determine if a specific wheel will fit as a set for winter for my C55.
It's a Sport Edition ST3 17x8 with offset of 32mm - all 4 tires/rims are the same.
The rubber is 225/45/17.
I spoke to Tire Rack and the rep "thought" they would fit, but he couldn't confirm.
Can anyone confirm that they should fit?
Thanks
