for the price of the 2 michelin pilot sports ($245 each on tire rack) you put on the front you could have gotten 4 Falken, Sumitomo, Nitto... in the correct size. not saying there is anything wrong with the Michelins, they are awesome tires but I would rather have ones that aren't going to rub and possibly fail because of it. I really hope you prove us wrong with your tire sizing.

Best of Luck.

Thanks thtguy...I hope to prove your guys wrong too! LOL And yes, the Michelins were expensive, but I'm hoping to sell the 285's I took off the rear and cover a good portion of the cost. I probably should have just replaced all four, but only time will tell. I'll have a report from the test drive tomorrow night!

Its actually Diamond Black. I thought it was capri blue or midnight blue but come to find out the code is for Diamond Black and indeed, Diamond Black actually has the blue tint you see on my car.

Air guns are a no-no with lugs
Buy a torque wrench and set it at 80lbs.

I think it is the flash, but I've often thought that my car was a little "bluer" than other Diamond Black cars I've seen in pictures. I'll have some good pics up by Saturday evening with the car all cleaned up and with the new wheels (that I'm praying don't rub when I drive it for the first time tonight). Those pics should give you a better idea of the color.

Well guys, first test drive was a success! I actually thought it was going to be this evening, but I have the wheels on the car and drove it about 5 miles to work. No scrubbing in the back at all (no passangers in it either so this may change). The fronts only scrub when I make a hard hard turn and its very minor...something I can deal with. I took my GPS along with me and the MPH seems to be off about 2.5 mph, again, something I can live with. I will have a longer drive with the kids and wife in the car this evening so I'll report back then on how the rears peform. That first time pulling out of the drive is the very worst! I was holding my breath and praying the whole way! The car has got an awesome look to it after it settled. Pics to come by the weekend. Anyway, so far so good!

I do not miss stock height. You can fit a baby in that gap.

I'm glad it appears to be working out for ya.

Final report after a nice long drive with the wife and kids in the car...PASS, 100%! I tried several spots where my old tires (255/30/18) scrubbed and the new one don't! Its all about the offset baby, and I got the perfect offset...more by luck than anything, but I'll take it! This is stock suspension...running a little larger series than most you guys I'm able to pull a little bit of that "full wheel well" look without dropping the car. Here are the first pics of the car with its new shoes:

Yea, I wasn't all into it when I first got the car, but I decided to just go with it and love it now! The original owner got worked at the dealership for the "chrome package" and I'm running with the look. I have never seen another C55 with the MB dealer installed option chrome mirrors so I'm just looking at it as a plus now. The wheels really take some of the attention away from the other chrome I think too.
