Familiar w/ official Mercedes computer software?

If you plug in the software to the car, there is a way to change the ecu to be optimized for 87, 89, 93, and "base" octane levels.

Does anyone know what im taking about.?!?!? Seems as though you can can set your car to be optimized for using a specific grade of fuel.

HOWEVER, my tech does not know (and claims no one knows) what the "base" is.

Now obviously Id assume that the base is 91, but anyone know for sure.

Supposedly, when you set it to 93, your car should feel a little stronger on 93 fuel. Im very skeptical of this and would like to know if anyone knows anything about this.

P.S. I can get specific details at later time. (of the terms used in the software, etc.) I am posting this based off of fading memory of last week.

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
i remember someone posted about this in the w203 forums. Basically it doesnt optimize the fuel maps for performance. All it does is tell the ecu, the minimum oct you can put in the car. If you only have 91 in your state I would leave it at 91.

If you want a real performance increase. I would suggest you save for a tune.

He thought it did a little just to help the engine run slightly stronger. Funny cuz i know poeple he charges for that. LOL hustler
