I am running 255/40/17 on the back with Toyo R888s. These tires are extremely sticky when it's warmed up and does not compromise handling in any way except when it's raining. I felt more confident in taking turns, accelerating, braking, lane change, etc.
The drawbacks are the noise as it can get pretty loud on the freeway commute and durability, it's bald already now after 7.5K miles.
