Cruise control doesn't work???
The cruise control doesn't work on my C32. It didn't work when I bought the car but figured I wasn't doing something right. After reading the manual the cruise control operation seems pretty straight forward. I couldn't find a fuse for the cruise control circuit.
I didn't find a whole lot with the search function. As anyone else had this problem. I don't get a dash light or anything.

My cruise control didn't work either when I bought the car and I also went thru the exact steps as you did.. However the previous owner had a K40 radar detector installed which I found some of the wiring by the steering wheel leaving me to believe that a wire might have gotten accidentally cut..

Well, I guess it is good that I am not solo here. Hmm....I am going to look around on the W203 forum to see if anyone has a fix over there. Or...who volunteers to take one for the team and take it to a shop to see what the problem is?

I don't know about MB's, but on my porsche 911 I had this exact happen and it was a faulty clutch switch. There may be the similar switch on the brake pedal which would confuse the cruise.

Found this in a previous thread:
Here you go!
Cruise Control Inoperative
Date: December 30, 2004
Order No.: P-B-30.30/61
Supersedes:
Group: 30
SUBJECT:
All Passenger Models Cruise Control Inoperative
For Information Only!
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles where the cruise control disengages at highway speeds, but functions at lower speeds (~25 mph), ensure that a difference in tire circumference between the four tires due to un-uniform wear is not the cause. Additionally; ensure that all 4 tires equipped on the vehicle are identical in the following manner; tire manufacture, application (snow, all-season, performance, etc.), speed, and load ratings.
Note : Version/SCN coding should be considered, if the vehicle recently received a ME software flash or control module replacement.
If you receive reports in the above model vehicles of the cruise control disengaging, please ensure that the vehicle's ME control module is properly version/SCN coded.

Hi, dontbanme,
My sender module is corroded making the codes drop out for rear sensor but on the way in to the garage (cruise working) and subsequent pick up later cruise not working.
Garage have no idea why just "perhaps we dislodged some cables".
Still trying to find a reasonable YAW sender A0025429418 as the one on ebay is £145 and not accepting offers or replying to emails.
Any one know of a scrapper?
Tim

Where is the sender module located? What about the rear sensor? I have found that the cruise control lever/switch seems to be a common problem. Pelicanparts.com is selling them for $60.

where is the YAW sender module?
Hi, Dontbanme,
I didn't actually take the module out myself but the mechanic told me that it is located in a well behind the rear seats, so it may be in the boot (trunk) or very close to the bottom middle of the seat. Being in a well is in fact the reason why I suspect mine could be faulty because it was corroded so bad the bottom 2 screws broke in half when I tried to open the case.
The case does have a rubber seal around it but there are signs of corrosion expanding the aluminium and getting through.
The electronics are cased in a pcb and screened pcb which infers that it is sensitive.
The pcb has been pressed into position over the 6 or 7 pins that form the oval plug and then glued in place on a slot using ceramic glue.
The chips are bespoke and are at least a microprocessor because there is a crystal close by but it could be a pic which is a specifically programmed chip and cannot be used for any other purpose.
I work with electronics every day but this shouted out "do not touch"
I would like to know if the car will work without the module so I could get it tested but my local garage did not want to take the risk.
Regards
Tim
