It's a bit more expensive than the DIY solution that others are doing. However, it is state of the art technology. Just thought I would throw it out there as another option for folks to consider.
How is the quality of the device "on the other side" of the call (e.g. do you ever have difficulty with the person on the other end of the line hearing you?) Does it use the factory microphone found in the bottom of the rear view mirror? I find that from time to time my output on the other end of the line gets scratchy with the OEM setup. It happens 5% of the time.

For those of you interested in the mObridge or the iTronic, we carry both brands.

iTronic:
www.cartronics.com

mObridge:
www.cartronics.com/mobridge.html

With the mics supplied in either kit, most people report you can not even tell you are on a speaker phone (assuming installed in the recommended location)

I'm told from the folks on the other end of the conversation that the quality of the voice is very good. The mObridge does not use the factory mic. You need to install a separate mic - mine is located just above the rear view mirror by the headliner. I took two conference calls the other day and had the air conditioning blowing hard and the people I was talking to said they could hear my perfectly. So far I'm very pleased with the mObridge.

If you're stuck on getting something like the original MB bluetooth, you might try ebay or salvage yards.

On the other hand, you will be able to get a head unit with considerably more capability than the even the Command unit for not much more than the parts to give you bluetooth alone.

Discontinued Bluetooth system that's why! The irony of all the work I put in to installing the OEM Bluetooth system is that I totaled my C55 6 months later. Unfortunately the insurance company wouldn't let me take out the Bluetooth system since they bought it.

you are correct sir. outdated, be nice it the parts were much cheaper it would make for a 'nice' little upgrade. i guess BT headset for now (until i get a current car with current tech) and that Mobridge is waay pricey as well...

I'm trying to do this soon, hopefully they are still available. I just bought a C55 AMG that does not have a cradle so I have to install this myself. Sounds pretty straight forward.

I also found these online http://mercedespartscenter.com/parts...&siteid=215720

reasonable prices... $106 and $157 respectively.

I bought a second hand itronic and had it professionally installed for a hundred bucks. It has worked perfectly for four years with many different phones. The latest being a Galaxy S4. Only the iphone 5 sounded terrible. But that is a common bluetooth problem with that phone, not the itronic.

Just so you know. My iPhone sounded great in the car. It was the person receiving the call from my car who did not hear me clearly with the iPhone5. With the Galaxy S4, all people receiving calls from me cannot tell I'm on Bluetooth, much less in the car -- crystal clear. Nothing changed with the itronic, only the phone changed.

Do you know what part numbers are required to equip the 2006 E350? I'm assuming that's what your search is pointing to but there's no item description.

I actually ran into a road block with this one. I ordered these parts but they were discontinued so they refunded my money. I'm not sure about your E350 sorry. Probably better off trying to get an Itronic.

thats right, the parts i listed in the previous post were available for purchase online, and they gladly took your money... but when i came to shipping them i guess they found out that it has been discontinued. You can not buy them anymore.

What was the "small part" needed? In the instructions it is pretty simple what is in the Core and Completer Kit? Any advice or tips on how you installed yours...things to share?

My Car/This install MY2005 C230 Kompressor w/
HU-COMAND>HKSound>CDC

I am in the beginning stage of my install (say all you want/I want it OEM) and have;
1.) Removed all the trunk lining and added the 7.5 amp fuse to slot #16
2.) Set down foam core "false flooring" over spare tire / area (to work on)
3.) After locating ONLY the female purple FAKRA lead (Step C.2 Figure 4 Part E) connector "loose" in the area...I looked to see a lot of "ends" packed between the Amp and the wheel well.
4.) Removed the Amp (carefully) by pulling the two nuts and removing the Amp on the bracket. I was able to lay it down next to the wheel well with ease.
5.) Located all the ends/cables and labeled them. NOTE Figure 4 Part C is NOT the square ended cable that is lowest in the well. Part C is more rectangular.
6.) Gently pulled all the Phone cables out from behind the large grounding bundle so they are free to move up to their new location. Similarly VERY gently aligned all the Orange Fiber Cables so they are alone and "free" to move without other cables. NOTE. The SDARS cables where/are (to me) very tightly curved...almost a "V" instead of a gentle "U" - I will try to post an image...anyway - it looked more "bent" than it should be OEM.?
7.) Disconnected the MOST connector from the Amp Figure 20. There is a tab/tang on the top - release it, gently pull it away and the MOST connector will pull out.
8.) Disconnected the Fiber Optic End from the MOST Connector, there is a little tang/tab on the left (outer) side. I need to push out/release the fiber ends to reconfigure...

This is where I am. I am looking into removing the carpet near the transmission - ANY tips would be appreciated. It did NOT seem obvious how to pull all of that down and away. I will start by following the Install Instructions I have;
Date:
May 2006
Order No.:
P-I-82.70/355A
For the Fiber Optic Ends to complete/build the new MOST loop. i.e.
for me that is "Removing Sound from chamber 2 and installing Sound 2 in its place" - I appreciate all previous posts incase I need to use Sound 1.

(It's dark and crowded in there...I am trying HARD not to shine a light onto any Fiber Optic Ends / Inputs - Is there any threat of light on these parts?...I thought I read long ago to shield these components from light...)

When I installed my BT bits I didn't have to do anything with the carpeting on the transmission tunnel. All I had to do up front was pull up the console in order to install the puck adapter. Everything else was there as far as I can remember.

COMAND NETWORK / MOST RING

Thanks for the reply! I read some do and some do not need to adjust the fiber cables at the transmission. The one control seems to be - those WITH Satellite Radio DO NOT need to modify those fiber cables at the transmission.

I DO NOT have SDARS.

Do you lkfoster?

Yes, I do. That may be why I didn't need to add a fuse either.
