Sam, did you re-arrange the mic input and the sound output when you installed the VCS? The mic array normally goes into the phone system but when VCS is installed it sits "higher" in the loop than the phone system. HU is the master, then sound (if you have it), then VCS, then phone. This means that your sound "out" whether from HU or amp goes to VCS, and then to phone.
You probably did it right but I was just trying to help just in case.

Hey no prob, just felt it was necessary to create that moment of hesitation and allow you to read a little deeper before you went all in on the appradio. Trust me, it's still tempting for me at this point since I'm very creative and had been thinking since long ago why cars even have radios when all you need now is some sort of interface for your phone and an amp to boost sound since the phone does everything now.
I've been open to the idea of the appradio for a while and now it is actually exists I just don't want to get disappointed. I guess I'll wait until you get yours and we will all see how it goes.... Good luck!

So the issue I can't seem to get out of is a non-responsive VCS or Linguatronic unit. I finally got around to checking out my setup again. It is currently set up on the MOST ring the way it's supposed to be
HU>Sound>VCS>Tel>SDARS>CDC
The MIC array setup should be correct since I can make calls through my car. Currently the way that's setup is:
5-mic IN SDS to 1-mic OUT array and 6-Mic OUT SDS to 8-mic IN TELEAID
Now what I did find out today was that the PTT stalk at the steering wheel actually responds to 'Pushing' it forward. Say, I'm on a call or if I'm asking Siri a question, it will "cancel" the call when I push the stalk away from me. So it seems to respond to one thing but just won't engage voice commands if I pull on the stalk towards me. The menu to individualize or train voice command is NOT present in the settings. When going through MOST Diagnosis under the engineering menu the VCS unit (model# 2118203085) is present and listed after Sound as device 2. My guess is COMAND probably needs to be reprogrammed or the VCS unit itself isn't functioning properly.
Turbonos7, do you happen to know the part number on your VCS?

Success! I have installed oem Bluetooth and it works great! Thanks to all here who contributed in different ways! The system works well with my iPhone 5 and together with the viseo tune to air iPod adapter with no issues.
Thanks to BF_JC230 for his help with the last part number I needed and the source to get it from.

MHI module MOST fibre optic plug
Unfortunately my C55 did not come with the MOST Fibre Optic connector that plugs into the MHI control module, and the one I bought on eBay did not have it either. The only way I could get this "UHI MOST Connector" as listed in the Star Bulletin was to buy the cable harness A 2115406833, which comes with one of the connectors.
Anyone know how to get just the connector itself? I suspect that it probably came with the MHI Core Installation Kit, but since that is no longer available, it would be good if someone had a part number for just the connector. Here's a picture of the cable harness.

Successful bluetooth OEM retrofit
Just got done installing the Bluetooth integration in my 2005 C55 with NAV, HK SOUND, and SATELLITE.
The parts I used to add the OEM Bluetooth, sourced from MB South Atlanta:
http://www.mbpartsworld.com/productSearch.aspx?
1 PLATE. 2038201311 $162.00 [Contact Bracket]
1 BRACKET. 2035456040 $42.50 [Mount Bracket for MHI]
eBay:
MHI Module 219 820 09 26 $140.00
ViseeO MB-4 Bluetooth cradle adapter/puck $200.00
Hardware store:
7.5A fuse in slot 16 and a 5A fuse in slot 13 - fusebox left side trunk.
Various hardware to mount the MHI module to the bracket and bracket to the car.
Local dealer:
Cable Harness A 2115406833 $22.00
As stated earlier, if you plan to use only Bluetooth, you won't need the linear compensator, nor the antenna switch.
Instructions: http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm
Install the contact plate in the arm rest and the puck in the contact plate.
Install the fuses in the fusebox inside the trunk.
In the electronics bay, plug '1 MIC ARRAY OUT' into '3 MIC IN TEL' and '4 MIC OUT TEL' into '8 MIC IN TELE AID'.
Since I have SAT, I did not touch the transmission tunnel.
My C55 came with dealer-installed Satellite Radio, and I suspect that they may have un-prewired the car for the Telephone module, as there was no MOST fibre optic connector for the MHI control module in the car, and several of the fibre optic cables were not labeled. I wired the MHI module using cable harness A 2115406833, which gives you the MOST plug, and a 12" fiber optic cable. Since I could not follow the STAR Bulletin instructions due to the bad labeling, I relied on the MOST ring diagram. The MOST connectors have a #1 and #2 position: #1 is the fibre "in", and #2 is fibre "out".
I ignored the STAR Bulletin instructions, and successfully configured the MOST ring (chain) as below.
Head Unit -> Sound (amp) -> Telephone (MHI) -> SDARS (SAT) -> CDC (disk changer)
After pairing my iPhone 5S to the BT puck, I had to adjust the mic volume down significantly *and* reduce the BT volume on the phone in order to be heard clearly.
Adjust the fixed volume levels by using the key sequences below.
0000#1* SEND- reduces the volume out of the car by one step
0000#10 SEND- standard volume level
0000#1# SEND- raises the volume out of the car by one step
0000#99 SEND- factory reset
Although the Viseeo MB-4 is supposed to launch Siri on a 7* from the console, this results in an 'Unknown Error' on the iPhone 5S. Will update to the latest Viseeo software and see if this changes. Also, am disappointed that the Nav audio output from the phone does not come through the system - will also need to see if this changes with the Viseeo software update.
Thanks to all who contributed to this thread, esp. andrenj, telhalyu, lkfoster, and bf_jc230!

Viseeo MB-4 Siri launch
After more research, the MB-4 CPU Software must be 4.2 or higher for 7*7 to launch Siri. Google "mb-4 user instruction extra supplement" for more information.

Calling up Siri using the Viseeo MB-4
Launching Siri via dialing 7*7 from Command with the Viseeo MB-4 initially gave me an 'Unknown Error' on the iPhone 5S. This was with MB-4 software version 20120112_v003.9, Bluetooth version HW200-SW322. Also, calls dialled through the MB-4 unit using Siri (using the phone's button) are terminated after 40 seconds.
After upgrading the MB-4 to software version 20130916_v005.2 (there is no Bluetooth version update at this time), launching Siri via 7*7 works successfully.
A couple observations:
- Every time you start the car, the MB-4 reloads the phonebook, which is therefore not available in Command for about 45 seconds.
- Storing "aa Siri" in the phonebook gives instant access to Siri using the steering wheel controls
- Anything you can do with the normal Siri call-up, you can do through the audio system (nav, text, email, calls...)
- Nav using Siri works, but the audio will only come through during the time that you are making the 'call' to Siri. If you want the phone navigation audio, you will need to continue the 'call' until you arrive. If you want to listen to something else, you can call Siri back later and "continue navigation", which will reconnect the audio.
- Command audio is muted during a 'call', not *stopped* - whatever you were listening to, continues while you are working with Siri.
I wish that the integration was such that the audio would only be muted whenever there was nav audio updates from the phone, but at this time that is not the case.

Hey, that's awesome you could do that! Unfortunately my C55 did not come fully pre-wired for the TEL unit, and therefore I had to buy the A2115406833 fibre optic cable with MOST plug. Just a strange peculiarity of my car, I guess...

VSC
Anyone that has successfully installed and has operative the VCS - can you share information please?
This thread is great - having just a few more pieces of info would be great!
Actual fiber number/name routing. Pictures. etc.
(For me, I have COMAND, SOUND, TEL, CDC.
I want to ADD SDRS and am contemplating VSC...so...
In transmission tunnel, ensure SDRS>CDC (Move TEL)...then in electronics tray ensure ((and this is where some GOOD info on SDARS and VCS)) fibers are looped according to ring diagram.)
Thanks!
(Now I have to move my TPMS module if I go VCS...dang it...)
These are the PNs I have;
VCS unit (model# 2118203085)
I used a 211 Voice Recognition (VCS) kit for 2005+ p/n Q6820827
(These units DO NOT control NAV from what I am reading...)
the control stalk is p/n A 000 545 10 44

VCS - I'll get back to that soon...
TEL/MHI...
I installed SIRIUS last night and the MOST connector in my MHI unit pulled out (can pull out) what I feel is too easily...does anyone remember this being a "harder snap" or lock...I took it (connector) out and inspected - nothing looks broken or worn, and the MHI module also looks fine...
Just looking for feedback on the "feel" of this snap/connection...it is NO WHERE near as tight or secure feeling as the AMP or SIRIUS (which admittedly has power and wake up lines...)
