ESP Light, No throttle response

Updating to people who might experience this themself and looking for solution.
I replaced the Accelerator (Throttle) pedal assembly. Its a 1 10mm nut with washer, there is a black plastic cover on top of it that is easily removed with flat screwdriver. Changed myself outdoors under 10 minutes, and im not a good mechanic.
Anyway. The car runs great now and really eats the rear tires. The shifts seems smoother. When i lift my foot of the throttle the car does not get small jerk like before.

Step 1, turn key to position #2, DO NOT START ENGINE. Leave in that position for 60 seconds, then turn key off to position O. Wait 10 sec., then start engine.
Let the truck idle for 30 sec, throttle should respond.
If the above doesn't work; check for codes with a scanner.

I think I have this same problem with the gas pedal assembly as my C32 is throwing a code P0123 and has the same symptoms as you described. When I do that ECU reset (ignition to position 2, hold gas pedal down, then turn off car, etc) then it temporarily fixes the problem but comes right back.
What was the MB part number you purchased for the Accelerator/Gas Pedal assembly you replaced? Thanks in advance if you can share that as I'm going to try and buy that part and replace myself....

Last weekend i experienced some really weird symptoms with my car. It has been keept in outside storage for 3 months during winter. Started fine and was driving around, when i floored it the ESP light came on and no response from accelerator pedale anymore. Car just lost all power.. Had to restart, car ran fine. Floored it again same thing, with a yellow engine diagnostics warning light lit up on dash. Restarted car ran fine, engine light was still on. After 1 hour standing still the yellow engine light dissapeard. Drove the car for 15 minutes did not experience any problems, but never had the guts to floor it again, was worried of getting stranded on the highway.
Should i be concernd? Was reading about bad throttle bodies causing these problem. Or could this be an easy problem like a weak battery? Before i put the car in storage i changed wheels. Car also had a Supercharger intercooler replaced 2 months before storage. New Gearbox, radiator, etc.. Car is costing a fortune and seems to be breaking down all the time even with a perfect service history behind it..

accelerator pedal
Mine had the same symptoms and it was the accelerator pedal also, They are around $190-$230 depending on where you get it, you really don't need the part # just put your vehicle info in (2003 Mercedes C32), they also have new ones on ebay, I think the part # is
211 300 13 04 and this # also shows to work
211 300 08 04
Parts geek also has them

JamesC32 - thanks very much and thats what I was hoping is its the accelerator pedal since the acceleration does come back (temporarily) after doing that ECU reset with the pedal.
Did you also do this repair?
If so what partn # did you go with for your repair?
I order stuff from FCP euro with good results and their selector tool lists the # 211 300 13 04 as the one they carry/recommend.

Yes I changes mine myself, its real simple just remove the plastic cover and I believe there was only 1 bolt to remove the peddle assembly and it slips out, and you have the plug in, that's it, definitely no need in going to the shop..

2002 SL55 AMG - Misfire & ESP/ABS/BAS Warning ON
Hi All, I have a 2002 SL55 AMG.
I've got an engine misfire along with ABS, ESP & BAS Lights on. No Speedometer when Driving. Also Suspension dancing around playing up/down etc.
Anyone got any ideas??
Fault Codes:
P20CC - Rough Road Detection - Speed Signal From Control Module ESP Implausible (p1999)
P2068 - Electronic Transmission ECU - N15/3 Error
P2036 - No or Incorrect CAN Message from Control Unit N47-5 ESP Control Unit
P2047 - Misfiring (See Currently Valid STIP) (p0300)
P2047 - Misfiring of Cylinder 2
P2050 - Misfiring, damages TWC
I clear these codes, and they come right back. Could a faulty ESP Module cause this all? the last thing i did was program a new key and replace the starter motor which was easy. have anyone got any ideas on this??

Have you checked your battery voltage? I have had similar issues when I had not driven the vehicle for a few months or had the battery on trickle charge. Lastly have you replaced or worked on the air intake throttle body or anything like that because I had P2007-001 come up for a ESP fault and I have had this before on my weekend vehicle and had found out from looking through this forum that it could have been the connector on the throttle body, I used a product called stabilant on the connector pins and sleeve and it resolved my ESP issue. https://www.partsdrop.com/index.php/...hoCIiAQAvD_BwE
The product enhances the electrical connection and is a great product to use on all the SAM and ECU connectors to improve electrical connection, low voltage battery can cause a lot of gremlins in these W203 platform vehicles so I have learned through the years of owning C32 AMG's it always pays to store your vehicle on a trickle charging system to avoid a lot of this types off issues when you go to start using the vehicle over the summer months.

Your SL55 is an R230 chassis platform, not a W203 chassis and you will, more than likely, receive a greater amount of responses from MBWorld members if you ask that question in the SL55 AMG forum.
Good luck......
