New C55 owner. Scheduled Maintenance Questions.
Hi guy,
I just picked up a 2005 C55 with the Brabus suspension, wheels, and body work. I love this car and want to keep on top of the maintenance. The vehicle has 60k miles on it and I am searching a breakdown of the service needed at each mile interval. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on your new ride! That's the one from Sterling BMW right? My bro almost ended up with that one, but it was just too far away to check out.
How's it? It looks fresh inside and out from the ad pics. Did you have it checked out at a local MBZ dealer before you pulled the trigger?
Regarding your question, if you do a search one "service a", there's a thread that details what's done on each A and B service. A and B alternates every 10K miles. Your dash will let you know.
Btw, do you mind to PM me how much you got it for? Just curious.

I'm glad you had a good experience with those guys. this weekend, I was down there trying to buy a BMW 328i that they had advertised on autotrader for 21K. When it came time to actually buy it, they wouldn't take cash. they wanted me to finance it (I suppose so they can rape me with interest) so i left. Assclowns they are!

There is no mention of any service for the timing chain or water pump in the maintenance booklet.
Someone more knowledgable then me will need to comment on whether no mention means we ignore those items or whether we should inspect - and if so in what way - those items. The water pump worries me less than the timing chain failure. I hate to ignore that and have it fail at some point.
Anyone wish to add anything here?

The timing chain is double row steel chain and will not break in 200k miles or so. The only time it needs to be serviced is if your timing is severly messed up. The plastic guide rails are more likely to fail than the timing chain. Change your oil with MB spec. oil at least every 10k miles. I do mine every 5k with a fresh MB fleece filter at every change. General consensus is to change your diff. fluid every 50k or so and your tanny fluid (gasket & filter) every 40k or so. Plugs should be changed every 50k or so and wires when necessary (at 100k at least). I'd change the power steering fluid every 50k or so and keep your eye on the voltage regulator on the back of your alternator. It is replaceable and should last about 80k miles. Always check the voltage regulator before replacing your alternator if your car stops charging. Engine mounts need to be changed at about 60-70k depending on use and tranny mounts should be changed at the same time. Valve cover gaskets leak around 40k if you are unlucky but most everyone will have to replace those before 100k. I havn't heard of a water pump failing on a 55 engine yet. The gas filter is part of the fuel pump (there is one inside each half of the gas tank and these are accessible under the rear seat). Expensive part(s) to replace. Rear tires every 10 to 20k, front tires every 20 to 30k. Front rotors every 60k or so depending on use; rear rotors every 100k. Pads as necessary. Follow the MB schedule for everything else.
