Rain Sensing wipers

Rain Sensing wipers
Is this a standard on an 06 c55? I am trying to figure out if mine are broken or if the car just doesn't have them. I was told it did when I bought the car about 6 months ago, but nothing on the car leads me to believe it does.

What does the rain sensor on the windshield look like? On the otherside of the windshielf where my rear view mirror is located there is some type of sensor and it has about 8 silver square sections in it.
The reason I ask is, it just so happens that I read this last night and thought "Oh alright I'll leave my windows cracked when I go in here" the car has been getting a lil toasty when I get back to it anyways. And of course it starts to rain, unfortunately my windows did not go up, so I had a slightly damp driver's seat for the ride home. All in all
