Replacing C55 speakers
Wanting to replace my speakers in my C55. Any recommendations? Would also like to incorporate a subwoofer as well all while keeping the stock Navi command unit.

easy easy easy. if you want to directly replace one speaker, it's gotta be 2ohm. if you do aftermarket with an aftermarket amp, you have many more choices but it'd set you back $. as far as the sub, very simple. just invest in a high quality high-to-low converter and a CedarsLink amp kit

no problem!
you can add aftermarket amplifiers for your speakers as well by purchasing processor such as the audison BIT-1, JL audio clean sweep, or the JBL ms-8 POS (
) but yea it all depends on what your willing to spend.

I don't think there's really any point in replacing just the speakers but keeping the factory amp because it doesn't put out enough power to run them and it'll sound like crap.
I wanted to replace the system in my car, but I despise all aftermarket radios because they look horrible and loose so much functionality. The MOST system just makes it so difficult to keep the factory radio. I've never had good luck with using a low level converter. I used one in my C230 without the HK system and it ended up sounding great but had an alternator whine I could never get rid of that drove me nuts. I'm just not interested in spending $1000 just to get a usable output from the MOST system.
